You walk down the driveway. You open the mailbox and inside sits a little rectangle with YOUR name on it. A flutter of excitement and anticipation overcomes you. It’s not from your mom. It’s not another magazine subscription. It’s not the dreaded bill from your credit card company. It’s a handwritten note– meant specifically for you.
Often times, thank you notes can seem like a chore. And, it’s ironic that in the monotony of jotting what feels like your hundredth or millionth letter, more often than not, it can make us forget some of the gratefulness we experience in knowing that someone had you in mind.
But, there’s something powerful in a thank you. In the digitized world we live in today, a handwritten message goes so much farther than shooting a quick text or posting another picture to Instagram. It’s the voice that lies behind the pen and knowing that your little way of showing you care was appreciated by the special person who received it. And there’s more! Showing your appreciation doesn’t always have to go along with that graduation or wedding present. Here are some other ways to express yourself, some big, some small, some in between!
To your parents.
Maybe your mom is your best gal pal and you chat every day. Or maybe it’s that you two catch up every few weeks. Either way, it is so, so important to always thank your parents for their continued support and love during each phase of your life.
Did someone make your day a little easier?
There is no question about it… life can be stressful between the hustle and bustle of work, parties, and schedules. If someone makes your day a little easier, return the favor and brighten up their day! Every little gesture makes a difference.
To your special somebody.
They’ve been your one and only through the ups and down and somehow are still around to tell the tale! Find a little way to show that their continued affection and patience has not gone unnoticed.
Just for being a friend.
Your partner in crime, the Tweedle Dee to your Tweedle Dum! They know how to keep you laughing in any situation. Just a few little words can serve as a sweet reminder to your bestie that you’ve got their back, too.
